During the mid 1950s the predominant US herds dealt with the dwarfism problem in different ways; some by progeny testing sires, others by importing animals from the UK. Wyoming Hereford Ranch imported at least two bulls, including Vern Diamond, making him Great Britain's record selling Hereford Bull in the process. WHR Lord Vern 77, a son, was the first of several WHR bulls of Vern Diamond breeding to be used here.
