This cow goes under the name "Annie" here because she was truly an orphan. Annie was born in the morning on the day her sire, GK Big Bang 835S, passed away. When she was only a few weeks old her 14 year old dam, CHR Isoud 2, also passed on leaving Annie for us to raise the best we could. She was just old enough that she would not accept a bottle and still too young to be on feed, so she came along quite slowly. However, we considered her genetics so important that we were willing to put up with just about anything and we have been richly rewarded. Her first calf was a commercial calf, but it turned out to be the best, if still the youngest, in the whole set. As a cow, she is of moderate to small frame (no surprise there) and has the most wonderfully shaped and productive udder we could have hoped for. Another reminder to have faith in your own genetics, sometimes in spite of what you see.
