This super thick, easy keeping cow has put two daughters and one grand daughter in our herd, and I expect to have as many more as she will give us. We consider her one of the key animals in the program. Her maternal line descends from the great Britisher Wet AGA46Z, purchased by Healey Bros. at Midland. Her dam, CHR Roweena 713, is a classic example that genetics work. Born late in her own dam's life, 713 just didn't have a good go of it. In fact, she was the lowest performing calf in her whole group, but we kept her anyway betting that the genes would show through and they did. CHR Ygerna 123 is an exceptional producer with an average NR of 116. She had her first calf at 24 months of age and maintained an average calving interval of 362 days through her first four calves, at which time she began as a donor cow. Keep an eye out for her fall heifer calf by General, she had a weaning weight ratio of 117 and is something to behold.
