Caldwell Cows

This is one of the finest cows we have ever produced. She is descended from one of the cows we purchased in the Enshallah Ranch dispersion in 1976 and has since been stacked with everything good we ever had. Just follow her maternal line back and see where great cows are made:

Her mother, CHR Roweena 705 is the most maternal cow we have ever seen.  We once found 705 nursing a calf in late summer while riding through the pasture, but 705 was due to calve in the fall.  She had no calf..  What she had done was adopted another cow's calf, one that wasn't getting much milk, and was nursing it.  Later on that fall she calved normally and raised her own.  You can bet we're going to keep those genetics around.  CHR Ygerna 048 has an average NR of 114, the third highest in our herd.
