Back in 1988, before most of the Hereford world realized what they had done to the usefulness of their cattle with the long, tall, and narrow approach, we set out on a search for thickness. That search ended at Healey Bros. where we purchased the top selling bull, FL Yeoman 2 (renamed CHR Bedevere). Bedevere was as thick, as long, and as muscular as we had ever seen and he passed it on to his calves without a miss. After all, he came by it honestly -- Bedevere traced to FL Bold Lad twice and B Stanway DP Lad 9C four times. The performance boost was noticeable and his bulls generated a tremendous repeat business for us. We lost Bedevere in a freak accident when he was only 4 years old, but have over 500 units of semen and continue to use him today. We have 5 calves due in April from a flush to CHR Ygerna 048.
